Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Sciences (PharmD / Master of Science)
Pharmacy students who wish to gain specialized knowledge in a focus area can complete a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSPS) in conjunction with the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). As a student in the PharmD/MSPS dual degree program, you can tailor this multidisciplinary program to your own individual background and career objectives. You will complete a series of required and elective courses, across areas including biomedical sciences, medical microbiology, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, social and administrative pharmacy. In addition, you conduct an original research project under the supervision of a faculty mentor, and submit a thesis based on the outcome of that research.
This program prepares pharmacists for careers in pharmaceutical education, research, industry and related areas of specialized practice. Students are required to present their research findings in professional conferences as well as publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
Completing this dual degree also helps with securing competitive residencies and fellowships. Students who love challenges and finding solutions to research problems will enjoy this program and succeed. Extra tuition is not needed for this dual degree program.
Most of our graduates pursue further education to earn a PhD in the specialized area of their interest. - Graduates will master the key concepts in the discipline of their interest within pharmaceutical sciences.

- Graduate Student Government
The Graduate Student Government (GSG) considers concerns and interests of graduate students and makes recommendations to the Graduate School administration and the University.
The GSG also provides a fair and functional rebate system that allocates student rebates to graduate students. Funds may be used for GSG-sponsored events that enhance the graduate school community, or may be dispersed to students to pursue academic endeavors.

Requirements for the dual degree program:
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Apply for and enroll in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Creighton University.
- Students who are in the PharmD program must be admitted into the Graduate School in order to participate in the joint Pharm.D./M.S. program in pharmaceutical sciences (see Graduate School admission requirements).
- An overall GPA of 3.0 and the GRE score are required for all applicants.
- The Graduate School requires all students from countries in which English is not the native language to demonstrate competence in English by obtaining either a minimum overall TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 90 (no sub score lower than 20) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) academic version band score of 6.5 (no sub-score lower than 6).
