You’ll also gain a deep understanding of how to apply your content knowledge through extensive hands-on teaching opportunities, supplemented by guidance from a teacher-mentor. You’ll learn how to differentiate instruction, facilitate student responsibility for behavior and classroom environment, encourage student-led inquiry, use assessment data to redesign teaching and learning opportunities, use research-based classroom strategies and more.

This accelerated hybrid program can be completed in 14 months and results in a master’s degree as well as your teaching certificate. The program utilizes a teacher residency model that blends online coursework with real-world experience. Students start with a six-week course on campus the summer before the residency portion begins. From there, they continue courses online while also partaking in a full-year immersive teaching experience in a secondary school.
