Ready to fly drones? Take to the sky by enrolling in the most comprehensive drone aviation training in the region. Participants will learn to fly a drone safely and prepare for the FAA exam.

The Creighton University Drone Aviation Badge program is a wonderful opportunity that offers an unmatched level of training, including:

  • Online coursework
  • Cutting-edge flight simulators
  • In-person instruction with a licensed remote pilot

The drone class begins with a two-week, online training course that focuses on flying safely and studying for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification exam. Over the next two weeks, participants will each get to use a cutting-edge flight simulator that enables them to practice flying a drone safely. The drone course is capped off with two days of on-site, in-person training with a licensed remote pilot. (Scheduling to be determined by student needs and weather.) During this hands-on drone training, participants will fly drones in a series of exercises from basic to advanced. All together, it’s a comprehensive drone training course that truly prepares you for flight.

Offered through Creighton’s Radlab (Research and Development Lab), the Drone Aviation Badge program challenges students to complete hands-on projects that contribute to positive social change. This makes our program unique, impactful and most of all, a great deal of fun!

Note that in order to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA, pilots must be at least 16 years old.

Student interactions and viewpoints are a vital part of our rich learning environment. For this reason, Creighton reserves the right to cancel courses and issue refunds in the case of low registration numbers.

If you have questions about the program, we’re happy to help. We can also provide assistance with group registration or work with you to develop a customized program for a team.
