Dr. Sarah Lux is the Program Director for the graduate Health Care Ethics program and the Associate Director for the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Creighton University. Her philosophy on teaching and learning is rooted in her inherent need for lifelong learning, to think deeply and critically about her worldview and to recognize the subjective nature of the human experience.
She believes “storytelling is integral to the process of developing one’s sense of self.” She has always viewed the stories that students choose to share in a learning environment as valuable opportunities to understand how their own experiences inform how they learn, interact with others and present their own knowledge.
Dr. Lux’s ongoing research interests include qualitative research, college student development, and scholarship of teaching and learning.
Dr. Lux received her Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and her PhD in Educational Leadership from Iowa State University.
In addition to academia, Dr. Lux enjoys music, film, books, home improvement projects, gardening and spending time with her family.
