Dr. Walker is an associate professor of marketing and management in the Heider College of Business at Creighton University. Her training in Industrial-Organizational Psychology provides her specific expertise in diversity, recruitment, selection, training, testing and measurement.
Her passion about organizational behavior and workplace issues is shared with her students in the classroom. She believes active learning tasks create an environment that facilitates student learning. “My teaching philosophy is one that involves actively engaging students through course material such as case studies, demonstrations, role plays and other class demonstrations,” she says. “Having more engaged individuals creates a context where students can go back to their organizations and apply the concepts in their work lives.”
Dr. Walker has experience working with organizations in both the public and private sector involving projects related to human resource management such as recruitment, selection and performance appraisal.
She is an active researcher and has published in top research journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology. She is a reviewer for journals such as the Academy of Management Learning and Education, Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, International Journal of Human Resource Management and Sex Roles.
